Mmmm! I whole heartedly agree with that one! Swedish Fish have been my favorite since I was seven or eight and would walk to the penny candy store a few block away to buy 100 for a dollar. The lady really did count them.
Ah, penny candy! I remember penny candy. There was a little candy shop just a few blocks from my house where we used to go buy penny candy and I thought it was just so cool to take a dollar and get fifty swedish fish and twenty-five sour patch kids and twenty-five gummy worms. Or whatever combination I was in the mood for then. And yes, they always counted it too. Simpler times.
30ish, Mommyish, Poetish... Learning to love myself as much as I love you, attempting to embrace a more honest life, and trying to find joy and celebration every day.
Kaitybean - My 19 year old daughter. She is centered and compassionate, witty and smart, creative and responsible. I can't believe I'm lucky enough to be her mother.
Scud - My 16 year old man-child. He's six feet tall and still a mama's boy. He loves all things comic books and video games, tacos and mountain dew. He cares very much about social justice and the importance of authenticity. Proud of him.
Mashuga - My curious, energetic, bigger-than-his-body 14 year old. He does all of his own stunts and is at once exasperating and enchanting. A whirlwind has got nothing on this kid.
Coco - 10 years old. He runs like a gazelle, is a brilliant soccer player, neeeeeeds all the cuddles, and is basically an energetic, kinesthetic, in his body kid. He also loves math.
Peanut - 7 years old. Too smart for his own good. Articulate, amazing lego builder, artist, tantrum-thrower, sweetheart. He is passionate and wonderful.
Millie - The rescue puppy. Neurotic. Snuggly. Silly and wonderful.
