Two sites I think you should visit

First, go here to see what Consumer Reports has to say about Maternity care in the U.S. You might be surprised at what you find.

Second, if you're looking for a side by side comparison of presidential candidates, including third party candidates, wikipedia has a great page.

That's all. Go see. Then come back and tell me what you think.

I saw that report last week and am very glad about what it acknowledges! Also, I am sad that because I live in Texas now I won't be able to have you as my doula whenever I have another baby. :(

I wonder if the fact that it's in Consumer Reports gives the birth stuff more weight? I wonder if anyone ever truly thinks or cares?

Also, thanks for the wikipedia link. I found myself going through like a buffet. I'll take some McCain on this issue with some Barr on the side, a little dash of Obama and ....

Trish, you're welcome to pick my brain any time. :)

Charlotte, me too. :( And I agree. It's refreshing to see mainstream new sources confirming the same kind of information that us "crazies" have been putting out for years.

Real, I am optimistic. I hope people start to think about this stuff and care about it more in the future. If nothing else, I kinda hope pocket-book concerns will help people see how ridiculous unneeded interventions have gotten.

And as for the political stuff, I feel the SAME way. Wish I could just vote for a bit of each.
