Where's My Wand? Lost in the Laundry!

So, it seems that since the beginning of time I have had major laundry issues. I'm just terrible at keeping up with it. At this very moment there is an embarrassingly large mountain of dirty laundry sitting at the foot of my bed. I haven't gotten to it partly because there is also a huge mountain of clean, unfolded laundry sitting in our family room. And all of my laundry baskets are buried somewhere underneath it. It's pitiful really.

I used to do a big laundry day once a week and get it all done at once. I haven't been doing that lately. Mostly because we have SO MUCH to do. I'm looking for a better system, better ideas on keeping on top of this without losing my mind.

Anyone have any great laundry tips? Things that you do to keep up with the never ending laundry piles?

I'd sure love to hear them. Please share.

I know! I know! You can make the kids fold the laundry! Yeah, I am a laundry hater myself and we have huge piles of clean laundry on our living room floor constantly, but we have fold days like evry other day and everyone except my toddler folds their own clothes out of the pile and puts it away. They are pretty good at it too! Dirty laundry I am afraid I have to do alone but that's no big because I can just toss it in and I'm kind of done, but when they hit their teens I am going to give them each their own laundry basket and they can do all of their own! Yes!
p.s. I tagged you!

hi heather :) i don't have nearly as much laundry (being only 2 of us), but my sister sarah has started doing a new laundry system lately that really seems to work for her! hopefully she'll stop by and comment, but if not, ask her about it! :) i don't think she really likes laundry, either.

Um, no system here. I have an enormous pile of dirty laundry as well and several basskets of folded, clean laundry. I hate putting it away!

I don't like laundry, the Sass has it right. But, my husband the engineer has set me up the Lean, Mean Laundry Machine. I'll post today about it, promise. There are diagrams...

You have diagrams. I'm impressed and really looking forward to this.

It's up. It's long. It works.

I do a load a day so I don't have to spend a whole day doing it all. I start in the AM and by bed time I have one clean basket of folded clothes. Who says it all has to be done on one day? God took six and then took a break!

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh this is so me! I HATE and I mean HATE with a passion doing laundry. Actually I don't hate the gathering and putting it in. (except cloth diapers- I have a love hate relationship there! Can't wait till potty training will end! Yahoo)It is the folding and putting away. Generally I do Thom's, mine and Jessica's and the boys do theirs. They do bring the laundry down and help some with that. I just need to do it more often so that it seems not so overwhelming. I reied the daily wash, dry, fold and away but then I was really hating it more. I think Sarah's plan rocks. It is alot like what I do but with alittle more help and consistency. Thanks!

Hope all is well with you! Are you coming to the Blessingway/Shower party at Holly's when I am there? I would LOVE to see you!

Take care! I just love reading your blog- when I get the chance that is!

Take care!

I HATE LAUNDRY TOO! We need to start a club. I just showed my 8 yr old how to work the washer... so she is going to start washing her clothes and maybe her sisters. We don't really have a system but when things get really bad I load it all up and go to the laundry mat to get it all done. I try not to think about what else has been washed in those machines... and just get it done. Good luck!

You know, I'm about ready to head to the laundry mat. I'll have a lot to fold and put away afterward, but it would sure be nice to get it all done at once.
